Join us for heart-opening Sacred Chants from Around the World!
On Thursday March 23rd, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, mindfulness teacher, chant leader and psychotherapist Trish Magyari will lead us in uplifting, joyful, heart-connecting chanting. Whether you love music and meditation, kirtan and/or spiritual connection, come and join Trish for this month’s Karuna Cottage Chanting. If it is cool enough, we will sit around the fire outside so we can sing as softly or loudly as we like. You are welcome to come and simply soak up the good energy! Bring percussion instruments if you like. We will have a few to share and chanting sheets as well.
No singing or musical experience required. This evening is a co-created experience for all voices, all hearts, drawing from sacred devotional chants and song mantras from several world traditions.
Trish has been studying with chant leaders since the 1980’s. She has led Sacred Chants from Around the World events in Gainesville (with Shana Smith), Maryland, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Oregon for the past 30 years. To fully honor the traditions these chants are drawn from, Trish shares chants she has learned directly from those of other traditions, and has permission to share. Trish shares the history of each chant and makes sure that we all can pronounce the words of each chant!
Trish is a licensed psychotherapist who specializes in mindfulness, self-compassion and somatic-based psychotherapy. She leads yoga, mindfulness and self-compassion retreats.
So even if you’re shy about singing, no worries, come enjoy and enjoy the community and intentions we are co-creating. The evening will end with a nourishing Tibetan Gong Meditation for those who wish to participate.
Donations of $10- $15 help keep the lights on at Karuna and support Trish.
