About the Instructor
Nancy Lasseter is a Licensed Mental Health
Counselor in private practice in Gainesville, Florida. She
is also an Artist in Residence at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida where she is
the Coordinator of the Mind and Body Renewal Programs for staff and families
of patients. In 2005, she founded the popular Mobile Relaxation Station,
where patient unit conference rooms are transformed into a serene space using
soft lighting and music. Nancy also directs a program called Comfort Zone, which supports families
and staff in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, and Brushes With Hope, a visual arts program for radiation oncology patients.
On Tuesday afternoons in the Shands at UF Serenity Room 7502, Nancy leads an hour meditation
for staff, families and patients.
She is a singer, percussionist and songwriter and is currently a member of the all women’s acapello group “Council of Stones.”
