MBSR for Healthcare Professionals

Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program

Six Tuesdays beginning September 28th through November 2nd

from 5:30 - 7:30 pm in the Shands Cancer Hospital

Criser Cancer Resource Center, 1st floor

Includes a Day of Mindfulness Saturday October 23rd, 9:30 - 4:30.

Cost is $80 for Shands staff, $160 for non-staff

19 CEUs available for Nurses, LCSWs, LMHCs, and LMFTs*

*Sorry, no partial credit given. Must attend all classes including the Saturday October 23rd Day of Mindfulness to receive credit.

Classes are also offered for the community at large.

This class is based on the Stress Reduction Program founded by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in 1979 that has been featured in the PBS documentary Healing and The Mind.  Since its beginning, over 15,000 people have completed this program.

MBSR 6 week program includes:
• Guided instruction in mindfulness meditation practices
• Gentle stretching and introductory mindful yoga
• Group dialogue
• Daily homework assignments
• 4 CDs and a practice manual
• Full Day of Mindfulness
