Honey Ball

Greetings friends,

I hope that this day finds you well and equanimous.

On Monday, we will be meeting again at the noon hour to listen, sit, move, share in our community of like-hearted persons who aspire to bring peace to the world inside and out. That includes you!

On Monday, I will be sharing a reading from Ajahn Amaro on papanca, the incessant train of thoughts or conceptual proliferation that we all know all too well. This talk often refers to the Buddha’s Madhupindika sutta, that is also known as the Honey ball discourse. It spells out the path that we tend to follow when we receive sensory input and how this often lures us towards self view and delusion. Most importantly, this reflection offers steps to take along the path to awaken to the truth of the moment and to train the mind to know when it has fallen into disillusionment that creates much of the stress that we experience, as we worry about the unknown future or wish for something that is not here….
