Mārajinā Bhikkhunī has joined our Karuna Cottage family of teachers. We are deeply grateful for her presence and her teachings. Ordained in 2012 at Aranya Bodhi Hermitage in California with Pavattinī-Upajjhāya Venerable Tathālokā, Maha Theri and dual ordination presided by the Venerable Seelawimala Maha Thero of the American Buddhist Seminary in Sacramento as Kammavācācariya, Mārajinā Bhikkhunī, has spent the past twelve years studying the mind through the Tipitaka.
Practicing both Jhana and Vipassana meditation her goal was to gain insight into an incapacitating bipolar diagnosis and to attain relief through understanding. She is now spreading the Dhamma to guide her students to an understanding of the three characteristics and the five khandas by way of the Satipatthana, sprinkled with the Brahmaviharas for a pleasant abiding, establishing them in the ultimate safety in the Blessed One’s dispensation.
She is a Cuban- American, fluent in Spanish and English and currently teaching in Cuba and Florida.
