Renting Karuna Cottage for your workshop, class or group retreat
We love to share our cottage with our growing community. We are located at 3215 NW 17th Street, Gainesville, FL 32605 in a quiet neighborhood with a vegetative buffer from the street. The house has a total area of 1150 square feet and comprises a large (30’x15’) great Buddha room that is our main gathering space. It has a full kitchen, a bathroom, a Quan Yin meditation room with a fold-down single bed, a bedroom with a queen bed, and a small screen porch. We offer zafus, zabutons, a few cushy chairs, 15 folding chairs, some blankets, and lots of good energy.
There are about 20 parking spaces available on the grounds.
Use of the kitchen for cooking on a gas stove, use of the microwave, and making tea is included in the rental. The kitchen is fully equipped. We also offer a variety of teas, a tea kettle, a coffee press, and all utensils and cookware needed for your stay.
The cottage sits on an acre of wooded land with open outside areas for group activities, walking and sitting in the shade. Walking paths around the 6 acre compound include trails behind the house down to Hogtown Creek, allowing for wonderful nature experiences. Birds, turtles and all kinds of critters share this land with us.
With all this and more, we have done our best to be sure that your quiet time at Karuna is well spent.
Self Retreats
We happily offer overnight or weekend self-retreats at Karuna Cottage for just you or you and a friend. Or, if you wish to register for an online retreat from one of the many sources around the world, we are set up for casting Zoom retreats onto our tv which you can attend with a group of friends who commute from town. This fully supports the integrity of your retreat; being far from the busyness of your work and home life. You are welcome to stay in the quiet serenity of the retreat house as you attend the retreat online.
Rentals:
Schedule & Rates: Rentals are available by the hour, half-day, or a full day.
Hourly offerings:
9 am – 4 pm $20/hr.
4 pm – 7pm $25/hr.
Half day:
9 am – 1 pm $80
1 pm – 5 pm $80
5 pm – 9 pm $100
Full day: $150

Cancellation Policy
Regarding cancellation, we will offer a full refund anytime up to one week before your reservation. Cancelations less than one week, we will refund at 50%. Contact Nancy for more details.
