Vipassana Karuna Sangha

Vipassana Karuna Sangha

Thursdays 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Led by rotating teachers:

Nancy Lasseter and Tamara Warner

Our sangha  emphasizes the teachings of the Thai Forest Buddhist tradition although not exclusively. We deeply appreciate the wise approach of the monastics of this tradition, who also fiercely protect the living beings of the forests in every monastery that they have built. They have spent their adult lives learning about the heart, the mind and how to alleviated suffering.  The dhamma and the meditations they offer to us are taught in a direct, down-to-earth and caring tradition.

During our Thursday Karuna Sangha, we typically start with a 30 minute partially guided meditation, followed by a 10 minute walking meditation, and a 20 minute silent meditation, a dhamma reflection and community sharing.
