Vipassana Karuna Sangha

Thursdays 5:30 – 7:00 pm

Led by rotating teachers:

Ayya Marajina,

Nancy Lasseter and Tamara Warner

Our Thursday evening sangha emphasizes the teachings of the Thai Forest Buddhist tradition although not exclusively. We deeply appreciate the wise and loving approach of our teachers of this tradition, who also fiercely protect the living beings of the forests in every monastery that they have built. They have spent their adult lives learning to open the heart and purify the mind, alleviating their own suffering and supporting the end of suffering of all living beings. The dhamma reflections and the meditations offered are taught in a direct, down-to-earth style.

During our Thursday Karuna Sangha, we typically start with a 30 minute partially guided meditation, followed by a 10 minute walking meditation, and a 20 minute silent meditation, a dhamma reflection and community sharing.
